The person in this position is an active participant in the life of the College.In their research work, the Analyst fosters equity, inclusion, and anti-racism by giving voice to diverse identities through means such as data disaggregation, contextualization, centering people of various identities, and participatory research and analysis projects with underrepresented and marginalized communities.• Collect or retrieve data from a variety of sources, both internal (e.g., student information system) and external (e.g., Department of Employment and Economic Development). • Clean and prepare data for analysis.• Apply analytic and statistical methods to provide insights from data from a variety of sources. • Prepare reports, briefs, dashboards, or other deliverables to communicate analyses and findings to a variety of audiences. • Present results and findings to a variety of stakeholder audiences. • Assess the information and knowledge needs of stakeholders and design solutions that meet their needs.• Prioritize and respond to ad hoc data and analysis requests. • Consult stakeholders and provide design guidance for internally developed surveys, assessments, or other data and information projects. • Support administration of vendor-supplied surveys (e.g., Community College Survey of Student Engagement, HEDS Campus Climate, etc.) • Respond to external surveys as assigned (e.g., IPEDS, NC-SARA, or Military Times). • Document, update, and organize operational information concerning departmental procedures. • Propose solutions that enhance the department’s ability to serve stakeholders efficiently and effectively. • Collaborate with Information Technology to identify needs and design databases and related services that support the work of the department. • Perform other duties as assigned to support department or college goals and priorities.
