Institutional Research Director - Assistant jobs in Huntington, NY

Farmingdale State College seeks a Technical Analyst to work in our Institutional Research department. Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

• Design, implement and maintain data dashboards used for tracking enrollment, degrees awarded, course enrollment by type, student grade distributions, faculty workload, demographics, etc.
• Compile data from external sources, such as IPEDS and the census bureau, for benchmarking purposes.
• Create summary charts from an assessment database that will be used for annual reports.
• Develop dashboards from an assessment database to display outcomes.
• Write scripts to automate IR data retrieval processes from the College's student information system.
• Maintain the webpage for the Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness.
• Turn static pdf reports and charts into webpages.
• Create and maintain a dashboard for academic self-study reporting.
• Maintain the campus assessment reporting system by updating users, academic programs, division goals and liaison lists and responding to questions about using the system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Baccalaureate degree preferably in computer programming, statistics, mathematics, business analytics or related field
• Proficient in creating data visualization dashboards using Tableau or Power BI
• Ability to compile data from large relational databases and to create queries using SQL
• Working knowledge of basic statistical analysis
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
• Detail-oriented and has the ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects
• Knowledge of webpage design and creation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's degree preferably in computer programming, statistics, mathematics, business analytics or related field
• At least three years of relevant experience
• Experience working in higher education
• Experience with Ellucian Banner

This is a full-time UUP position.

• For the first 10 working days, beginning Friday, September 29, 2023 and ending Thursday, October 12, 2023, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

• Salary: $55,000 $3,026 in downstate location pay = $58,026 Total Annual Compensation.
