Installation & Maintenance Technician Supervisor supervises the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of switches, cables, and other telecommunications equipment in the field to ensure optimum network usage and quality. General Maintenance and Operations Supervisor

  • Duties

    • Serves as Supervisor over four shop foreman and second-level supervisors, as well as one branch chief of the Operations and Maintenance Division.
    • Plans, coordinates, and directs a variety of related work operations or functions through one or more layers of supervision, including 7 days per week, 24 hours a day on call operations.
    • Incumbent is responsible for the planning, programming, coordinating, supervising, monitoring, and executing of the buildings and grounds and non-privatized utilities functions for the installation.
    • Performs staff planning, coordination, and supervision of engineering support activities of buildings, grounds and utilities and establishes objectives, standards, and goals for the successful accomplishment of the operation and maintenance programs.
    • Plans and schedules work assignments on a long- range basis (i.e., 3-6 months) for accomplishment by the units supervised within schedules and priorities established by higher level management.
    • Monitors the status of work in relation to overall schedule requirements, including unanticipated or emergency requirements.

    Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to Supervise as a General Maintenance & Operations Supervisor assigning work to plan the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials and tools on a day-today or project basis. The types of trades supervised may include: Maintenance Mechanics, Heating and Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanics, Electronics Mechanics (Fire Alarms), Electricians, Asbestos Remover Mechanics, Engineering Equipment Operators, Pipefitters/Welders, Locksmiths and Maintenance Mechanics (Preventive Maintenance), Pest Controller (MVO)s, Tractor Operator (MVO)s, and Laborers.

    Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

    To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below.
