Inside Technical Sales sells technical services, products, and systems. Develops relationships with current customers and identifies potential new customers through visits and calls. Being a Inside Technical Sales creates and conducts technical presentations and demos that present current and future products to potential customers. Utilizes technical acumen to understand and gather customer requirements and to prepare specifications and generate quotes. Additionally, Inside Technical Sales builds customer confidence by addressing all technical objections/concerns from prospective customers throughout the sales cycle. Partners with internal technical and marketing teams to offer suggestions for product enhancements and to share insights from customers. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related technical or scientific discipline. Typically reports to a manager. The Inside Technical Sales occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Position Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Assist customers determining their supply needs, source and arrange the delivery of such supplies to the customer. Up-sell additional products and supplies. Support WBI sales and external sales made by Outside Sales Representatives.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Determine customers' needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions
    • Follow a product/supply checklist for each customer's job and up-sell additional products and supplies
    • Answer telephones and enter sales orders
    • Interact with walk-in customers, enter orders, and ensure they leave satisfied
    • Support Outside Sales with customer orders, quotes, take offs, etc.
    • Work with Purchasing Rep when sourcing high volume order quantities for customer orders
    • Accept payment and apply it to the appropriate customer account
    • Coordinate customer pick-ups with the warehouse
    • Follow up on deliveries to ensure materials arrived on time with all items accounted for
    • Address and resolve service concerns, should they arise
    • Maintain timely and effective paper flow within department and other departments
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
    • Performs all assigned tasks, responsibilities, and related work processes in the safest possible manner, always ensuring that a safe, accident/incident-free work environment is maintained for all coworkers, clients, suppliers, etc. at all times.

    OTHER DUTIES

    • Make recommendations to Sales Manager for new product lines and pricing to remain competitive in the market.
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as: discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
    • Train any additional customer service reps when or if hired.
    • Attend relevant product training to increase knowledge as required.
    • Attend and participate in relevant trade shows as required.

    Position Requirements

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • High school diploma / GED
    • 2 years of relevant inside sales experience

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
    • Ability to plan, prioritize and execute a daily routine
    • Knowledge of products that we offer
    • Driven to deliver excellent customer service
    • Industry relevant product knowledge - Required
    • Computer skills (typing, email, internet, Office / Excel) – Required
