Injection Molding Machine Operator sets up and operates injection molding machinery to shape plastics. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Injection Molding Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Injection Molding Machine Operator requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Injection Molding Machine Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. The Injection Molding Technician is responsible for all aspects of the Injection Molding processes including.
changing out molds, completing setups, troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of injection molding equipment.
Essential Job Function:
Oversee mold and material changing process and ensure that all aspects of the production meet the required standards. This includes setting up mold changes, ensuring that housekeeping standards are met, and making adjustments as necessary to ensure that the molded parts meet the necessary requirements. Train and coach machine operators to ensure that they are following proper procedures and adhering to all safety, quality, and work rules and regulations.
