Job Title: Injection Molding Operator 2nd shift                            Department: Injection Molding

Reports to: Injection Molding Lead                                              Hours: Mon-Thur 4:20pm-2:50am OT as required

Job Summary:  Operate assigned Injection Molding machine to create assigned parts in a safe, effective and efficient manner.  Use various hand tools to remove and clean parts to meet quality standards. 

Job Details: 

• Understand and operate the assigned Injection Molding machines to produce quality products.
• Must be able to visually inspect parts for clarity and defects to insure a quality product.
• Clock to jobs and provide accurate counts for production run. 
• Keep work area clean and comply with 6S process for assigned area.
• Remove parts from molds and degate, deburr and/or deflash the parts as required to meet quality standard.
• Pack parts as needed for delivery to production line.
• Participate in Lean manufacturing training and Kazien events with a focus on eliminating waste in all production activities.

Job Qualifications:

Required

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate assigned machine safely while meeting production goals and reducing variation in product.
• Ability to use drill press to clean parts if assigned. 
• Ability to use varied hand tools (primarily knifes and clippers) to clean plastic parts in order to produce a quality product.
• Requires flexibility to work sporadic overtime as needed to fulfill production needs.
• Ability to communicate with leaders and teammates in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
• 18 years of age.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and 7 year background check.
• Must have a High School Diploma and/or GED.

Preferred

• 2 years’ experience in a similar production environment.
• Technical training at an accredited school.  

Job Requirements:

Physical:

• Physical: Ability to safely lift 50lbs minimum.
• Standing on concrete factory floor for 10 hours per day.
• Basic math (counting and addition) in order to track parts during the production run. 
• Must be able to wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses and other PPE equipment as required for work function.
• Ability to safety reach, stretch, bend and lift parts and product from a standing position.

Tools / Equipment: Hand knifes, clippers, various power hand tools.  Some hand tools may have vibration.

Working Conditions: Temperature controlled factory environment.
