OhioMHAS Information Services is the technology arm of the third largest cabinet level agency in the state of Ohio. We support more than 3,200 employees within six regional inpatient behavioral health hospitals, Ohio Pharmacy Services, and Central Office. We develop and support technology for several critical business solutions used by the agency as well as by county and local behavioral health care providers across the state.

We are accepting applications for a Hybrid - Information Technology Manager 1 within the Office of Information Technology, headquartered at the James Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 East Broad Street, 33rd floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

What You'll Do:

We are accepting applications for an Infrastructure Manager (Information Technology Manager 1) within the Office of Information Services. As the IT Infrastructure Manager, you will be planning, coordinating, and supervising activities of all networks, desktop, and telecommunications systems and its associated administrative activities, including design, implementation, and network administration of hardware and software, and providing cost-effective solutions for infrastructure and end-user needs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee the design and implementation of the agency’s IT infrastructure to ensure it meets the organization's needs and goals.
• Managing the day to day operational and Projects tasks within the infrastructure and desktop support team.
• Monitoring and maintaining the performance, security, and reliability of the agency’s infrastructure, implementing necessary updates and fixes as needed.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on the infrastructure and address any concerns or questions.
• Selecting and purchasing new and replacement hardware and software, for our Regional Psychiatric Hospitals and other sites.
• Evaluating technology risks in order to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures.
• Leads/supports cross-functional projects as required.

Knowledge of: computer science, or business or public administration, data processing, engineering, geology or comparable field which included coursework in following: logic-based mathematics, data base concepts, basic data processing concepts & high-level language computer programming; computer systems analysis & design; computer hardware systems; supervisory principles/techniques*; employee development & training; project management.

Skill in: operation of computer terminal &/or personal computer & peripheral equipment (e.g., printers, modems).

Ability to: interpret variety of technical computer manuals & documentation; write computer programs & system documentation & instruction manuals; communicate verbally & in writing on technical & non-technical matters; establish friendly atmosphere as supervisor or project manager.
