    This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-13. At the GS-12 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-13. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds. Promotion is not guaranteed and no promise of promotion is implied.

    Major Duties:
    • Serve as a technical expert for mid-tier Windows/Linux computers and peripheral operations ensuring system availability and functionality.
    • Manage enterprise server data Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions from NetApp and ensure data recovery and backups are performed.
    • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot servers consisting of IBM Filenet, Pega and Weblogic/Service- Oriented Architecture (SOA).
    • Serve as software administrator over the agency's mid-tier computers and peripheral support equipment and operating systems.
    • Review and manage server logs, perform diagnostics, and execute system backups and recoveries, patch management, and software inventory using management tools, including but not limited to, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Dynatrace.
    • Analyze requirements and performance data and initiate studies to perform life-cycle replacement or upgrades to the system.

    For the GS-12: You must possess one-year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is defined as reviewing and evaluating systems modification projects and ensuring all integration and interface requirements are met; monitoring work processes, operating systems, data models, work rules, file/database designs, and computer and operating procedures.

    For the GS-13: You must possess one-year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is defined as reviewing and evaluating systems modification projects and ensuring all integration and interface requirements are met; monitoring work processes, operating systems, data models, work rules, file/database designs, and computer and operating procedures; leading assigned projects and serving as a technical expert providing leadership and technical guidance to a group of IT professionals performing analysis and design of systems; providing technical expertise in performing analysis, planning, design, development, maintenance, and modification of systems.

    Per Office of Personnel Management General Schedule Qualification Policies, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description. Experience that would not normally be part of the employee's position is creditable when documented by satisfactory evidence (e.g., a memorandum from the manager, human resources director, or official documentation such as SF-52, SF-50 documenting an official detail/assignments, or other comparable documentation).
