ITI Event Director
Summary:
As the Director of Events, you will set the strategic development and implementation of all events for the ITI Institute. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing planning events that create a meaningful and impactful experience. You will have strong organizational, relationship-management, and event management skills with a positive attitude to create an internal center of gravity for events.
Your responsibilities:
- Event Planning and Execution
- In-person, virtual, and hybrid events, including but not limited to salon dinners, large receptions, webinars and online events, policy summits, and facility tours and other in person engagements.
- Data Management
- Maintain current lists of all ITI event engagements.
- Manage and update databases of speakers, attendees, vendors, and event registration.
- Expand event audience targets.
- Communications
- Send event invitations and manage registration.
- Develop and draft event collateral and marketing materials for ITI newsletters, member communications, and social media Develop and transmit staffing plans and other internal communications.
- Administration
- Support event operations by:
- Working closely with the Operations team to reserve and prepare event spaces.
- Conducting site visits
- Setting up and managing event check-in and other elements of the attendee experience
- Coordinating vendor management and sponsor fulfillment
Desired Skills and Capabilities:
- Project Management
- Ability to develop and execute against event planning timelines and event budgets.
- Experience with vendor negotiation and communication.
- An ability to “see the whole court”, have a strategic mindset, and anticipate needs and opportunities.
- Event Execution
- Familiarity with virtual events and platforms (Zoom and Teams)
- Experience executing and preferably leading in-person events.
- Working familiarity with event management systems (i.e. Constant Contact, Cvent, Swoogo, HubSpot, etc.)
- Client/Member Management
- Demonstrated experience managing event clients.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Event Sponsorship
- Proven success in securing sponsorship revenue for events
- Experience drafting sponsorship contracts.
- Ability to design event sponsorship packages that are in keeping with current industry trends and pricing.
Your qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of experience in an events position.
- Proven experience in a nonprofit organization (association preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
- Demonstrable experience designing and implementing successful events that provides outstanding customer service.
- A track record of meeting planning and organizational experience with the ability to manage administration and logistics.
- Experience in creating and cultivating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
