Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Information Technology Manager to join our team. As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall IT infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation of our technology systems. This is both a leadership and "hands-on" role that requires strong technical skills, project management expertise, and the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Travel to our portfolio company locations in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island to provide technology guidance is essential to this role.
Responsibilities:
- Develop an understanding of and update documentation of existing infrastructure and devices (network, hardware, software, phone systems, and mobile devices)
- Build proficiency and expertise with key systems for all portfolio companies
- Manage and act as the primary on-site point of contact for our MSP, working collaboratively to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and solutions beyond support
- Develop the appropriate user support system, relying primarily on our MSP for front-line / Tier 1 support
- This role will require management and oversight of the MSP to ensure all support needs are resolved completely and promptly
- Business critical support items must be immediately escalated or independently resolved to limit any critical system downtime
- Assist MSP with installation, configuration, and onsite troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues
- Verify / test incoming hardware and facilitate transition of new devices for users
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of office productivity software such as Microsoft Office
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure data security and system reliability
- Collaborate with our MSP to implement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in the event of system failures or data breaches
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication, coordination, and successful project outcomes
- Lead IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Meet and communicate with key stakeholders to provide regular status reports
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field preferred
- 4-5 years of proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and providing technical support, preferably within the construction or engineering industry
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and emerging technologies
- Solid understanding of information security principles, data privacy regulations, and compliance frameworks
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior executives
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and propose effective solutions
- Proficiency in vendor management and communication
