    The Vice President of IT will make a key contribution to the formulation of the company's business strategies by developing and communicating an IT vision, strategy and roadmap that aligns with business strategy and objectives. The successful candidate will proactively advise the senior management team on emerging technologies and trends that are most relevant to the company's goals and evolving needs. You will transform IT and the business through innovation and the implementation of technology. The Vice President of IT will build strong collaborative relationships with business groups and their leaders across the enterprise, and develop a detailed understanding of their issues, challenges and opportunities. You will foster a culture of innovation, service, transparency, and accountability in IT.

    The Vice President of IT is responsible for setting the strategic vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives. This leader directs the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of business operations in order to improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and business development.

    Strategy & Planning

    • Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization.
    • Develop and maintain an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the business.
    • Establish IT departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
    • Assess and communicate risks associated with IT investments.
    • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
    • Direct development and execution of enterprise-wide cybersecurity, disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
    • Assess and make recommendations on the improvement or re-engineering of the IT organization.
    • Establish integrated working relationship with CDO for technology alignment and integration.
    • Act as an internal advisor and business partner on a wide variety of business processes and technologies and system application opportunities for the Company.
    • Responsible for partnering with key leaders across the organization, to ensure that resources are aligned to drive business success.

    Acquisition & Deployment

    • Provide broad business knowledge, allowing effective cross functional communication to direct and provide solutions and guide technology related decisions.
    • Coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
    • Approve, prioritize, and control projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems.
    • Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursue master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale.
    • Define and communicate corporate plans, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating IT systems.

    Operational Management

    • Ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of IT systems performance.
    • Ensure IT system operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
    • Establish lines of control for current and proposed information systems.
    • Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and prices. Advise, counsel, and educate executives and management on their competitive or financial impact.
    • Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external entities, including government, vendors, and partner organizations.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in IT, business or related field with proven high-level performance as a change-driving, business focused leader in a complex corporate environment and 12 years of experience in progressively responsible IS positions, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.
    • Ability to provide a vision and technology strategy for a complex wholesale and distribution business, ensuring projects are prioritized and implemented in accordance with the Company’s overall plan.
    • Must have high technical competence and a comprehensive understanding of multiple technologies.
    • Passionate with the ability to drive organizational change.
    • Ability to develop high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams and diverse functions at all levels of the organization and outside vendors.
    • Must be driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Proven leadership ability, excellent communication skills with both technical and business resources.
    • Strong negotiating skills.
    • This position requires travel up to 50%, including North American and international travel
