Information Security Manager is responsible for developing and managing Information Systems cyber security, including disaster recovery, database protection and software development. Manages IS security analysts to ensure that all applications are functional and secure. Being an Information Security Manager develops and delivers IS security standards, best practices, architecture and systems to ensure information system security across the enterprise. Implements procedures and methods for auditing and addressing non-compliance to information security standards. Additionally, Information Security Manager migrates non-compliant environments to compliant environments. Evaluates the organization to ensure compliance with standards and relevance with industry security norms. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Information Security Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Information Security Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Description
    The Security Manager will maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by establishing and enforcing security policies and procedures and supervising the Security Team. The Security Managers serves as manager and point of contact for all security inclusive of door staff.
    The Security Manager will protect assets, employees, and the company brand while providing exceptional customer service and will strive to continually improve employee and customer satisfaction.
    Provide 100% support and commitment to running and managing an effective and efficient security team maintaining appearance, punctuality, positive attitudes and excellent customer care.
    General Overview
    The following are intended as basic requirements.  Success will come to the individual that is able to expand upon these job requirements and truly “make it happen.” These requirements may change over the course of employment.
     
    • Become more involved in the operation of events and open nights
    • Improve the function and role of security during the night
    • Improve communication between staff and security
    • Roles and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
      • Manage nightly bag checks
      • Weekly Schedules
      • Training and Qualifications
      • Recruitment
      • Incident Reports
      • Maintain and manage radios and necessary equipment
    Tasks, Duties, Responsibilities:
     
    • Will lead all training of Health and Safety which will include taking proactive measures to prevent injuries, being a first responder when injuries do occur, and will provide first aid to any injured employees or customers.
    • Should have basic knowledge of first aid and handling emergencies.
    • Responsible for creating the schedule for the Security Team ensuring all areas have the proper support and coverage.
    • Responsible for developing strategic roles for security that influences business in a positive manner.
    • Keeping all training manuals and materials up to date with any applicable changes.
    • Responsible for enforcing company policies and procedures and issuing discipline to employees who violate the policies with direction from the general manager.
    • Lead, create, and enforce new Security Policies and Procedures subject to Management approval.
    • Lead & investigate the allegations and create a written report containing all of the facts (after receiving management approval) regarding the alleged incident.
    • Provide reports to management concerning important accidents or problems that require attention and necessary actions. (The failure to report such allegations will result in the issuance of discipline up to and including termination.  This proactive approach will protect the company from future unfounded allegations.)
    • Will be responsible for reporting all violations of Security Policies to upper management for review.
    • Will be responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly entrance and exit for patrons.
    • The Security Manager must have excellent interpersonal skills and sense of sensitivity since Security will be lots of dealing with customers and ensuring neatness inside the establishment or during the event.
    • Will stay up to date on all State and local laws and ordinances and relay this information and any changes in the law, to the Management and Security Teams.
    • Will assist upper management in all internal investigations to prevent employee theft and other violations of policy.  (This includes, but is not limited to: Hosts and Security accepting unauthorized tips to let people in, Bartenders and Servers taking extra money or overcharging patrons, employees using drugs or alcohol, bag checks for employees at the end of every shift and all other thefts or scams.)
    • Will require all Security team members to attend  security specific Pre-Shift meetings detailing the evenings focus and positions. (A roll call will be taken every night to confirm that every Security team member is present and will ensure that the venue has adequate coverage every night.)
    • Will conduct a Security briefing to discuss any security-related issues, recent security incidents, placement of VIPs for the night, and will assign posts for the night.
    • Will enforce security team dress code and ensure all team members are looking the part
    • Will facilitate the admission of patrons by establishing an efficient, consistent system of collecting the cover charge.
    • Owns that every person who will enter the establishment will not cause any related harms or damages by for instance monitoring every visitor going inside, as well as keeping an eye on the crowd behavior and see if the inside of the establishment is already overcrowded or not.
    • Will monitor the nightly cash-box totals, set weekly goals, strive to meet and exceed those goals, and provide monthly reports to the Management Team.
    • Will maintain an accurate log for Lost and Found items including the date, time, location of where the item was found, which employee or customer turned in the item, and a description of the item.
    • Willreview and approve all Security Incident Reports and maintain incident log.
    • Will enforce security team dress code and ensure all team members are looking the part.
    • Will attend the Chicago Police Department’s CAPS Beat Meetings with Director of Operations to obtain relevant information on neighborhood incidents that may affect the company and send a summarized email of the meetings to the Management Team to keep everyone informed.
    • Will meet with other Security Managers in the neighborhood to exchange information about business operations, regular customers, high net worth VIPs, and any other information that can benefit the company.
    • Will meet with and network with the Security Directors of the best hotels in the city.  The purpose of such meetings is to establish a direct means of contact to the Chicago hospitality industry’s constant access to VIPs.
    • Will exchange business cards with the Hotel Security Directors and provide introductions to the RRP owners. (The Hotel Security Directors have direct contact with VIPs and celebrities every week.  Many times they provide suggestions on restaurants and nightlife in the area.  The goal would be to become the first call that the Hotel Security Directors make when their guests are looking for nighttime entertainment.)
    • Will assist in the cross promotion of RRP venues from the Underground by training and enforcing the way to promote and engage guests at the door both waiting to enter and leaving the club. Security manager will work closely with GM to make sure system is in place.
