Information Security Director establishes and administers the overall strategies and procedures for the information security function. Develops and implements information security and disaster recovery programs in accordance with organizational information security standards. Being an Information Security Director evaluates information risk on a regular time schedule and promotes information security awareness within the organization. Requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Additionally, Information Security Director typically reports to top management. The Information Security Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Information Security Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     With the digital landscape expanding, the safeguarding of our electronic information systems from unauthorized access remains imperative. In line with this priority, EPE is committed to tightening security, conducting operations in compliance with regulations, and company policies.

     

    We are searching for a strong background in information security, risk management, and a deep understanding of the unique security challenges faced by the energy industry.

     

     

     

    How you can make an impact:

    • Develop and implement a robust cybersecurity strategy tailored to the energy sector, aligned with the company's objectives and industry-specific requirements.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats, with a focus on safeguarding critical infrastructure.
    • Establish and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures that address the distinct security needs of the energy industry.
    • Lead incident response efforts in the event of cybersecurity incidents or breaches, collaborating with cross-functional teams to minimize disruptions and ensure a swift recovery.
    • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats and trends within the energy sector, adapting security measures to address evolving risks.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to the IT security team, fostering a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.
    • Assure that our Information Security Framework is implemented by the IT department.
    • Regularly monitor and assess the effectiveness of IT security controls and suggest areas for improvement where needed.
    • Collaborate with operational teams to integrate cybersecurity practices into the company's processes, ensuring operational continuity and risk reduction.
    • Conduct regular cybersecurity audits, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses and enhance the cybersecurity posture.
    • Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations such as NERC CIP and other applicable data protection laws.
    • Oversee vendor security assessments to mitigate risks associated with external partnerships and technology solutions.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on the company's cybersecurity status, ongoing initiatives, and potential risks to executive leadership and the board of directors.
    • Manage the cybersecurity budget, resource allocation, and technology investments to align with strategic goals.

     

    Qualifications

    Bring your passion, here what’s needed:

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • 10 years of progressive experience in information security, with 5 years of industry-specific experience in the energy sector.
    • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or industry-specific credentials are highly desirable.
    • Strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies, critical infrastructure protection, and energy industry security challenges.
    • In-depth knowledge of energy industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, coupled with the aptitude to translate complex security challenges into digestible insights for leadership.
    • Proven track record of managing and responding to cybersecurity incidents within the energy sector.
    • Experience within a professional services environment is a plus.
