JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible to assist the Infection Preventionist and the Risk Manager with infection control and risk reduction in the Long Term Care Center (LTCC). The Infection Control & Risk Coordinator is responsible for the development, direction, implementation, management and operation for infection prevention, surveillance activities, and investigation of risk events that occur in LTCC with the oversight and guidance of the Infection Preventionist and the Risk Manager.
This position is responsible for the effective direction, management and operation of the infection prevention program, including education of LTCC Staff. Available resources to guide the development and direction of the program in LTCC: the CDC, CMS standards, WHO, and OSHA, as well as Federal and State Regulations.
In addition to the responsibilities in Infection Control, this position will also be responsible and accountable for oversight and investigation into risk events that occur in the LTCC. Additional responsibilities include data analysis and chart review to identify patterns or trends that may be indicative of undesirable performance or variation.
This position serves as a source expert for the LTCC Medical Director, leadership and employees for all infection control and risk activities. This role will also be expected to participate in and assist the Quality Management Director with performance improvement activities and other quality initiatives as assigned. This position will have direct oversight from the Infection Preventionist and the Risk Manager for Cody Regional Health, while still reporting to the Quality Management Director.

EXPERIENCE
Two years of recent clinical experience in a LTCC or acute care facility required. Prior experience in infection control and risk management preferred. Supervision and/or teaching experience helpful. Prior experience with medical record review, data abstraction and analysis preferred.
SKILLS
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Certification in Infection Control preferred. If not certified, certification must be achieved within 3 years of hire.
