In addition to the salary mentioned:
**Industrial Hygienists and Safety & Health Specialists will be compensated basic salary plus
10% Hazard pay for each hour they are required to use personal protective equipment (excluding hard hats, boots, hearing and eye protection) to enter a hazardous worksite to consult, inspect or investigate where serious hazards are present.
As the
Industrial Hygienist 3 (Hygiene Consultant) you play an important role in achieving the mission of
Division of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) Consultation by analyzing employer's accident records, industrial insurance data and safety and health inspection/consultation histories to determine what additional services and or programs need to be recommended to employers.
You will provide onsite consultative assistance to employers with emphasis being placed on small businesses in high hazard fixed industries and the construction industry. You will assist employers in establishing and implementing safety and health programs designed to meet the DOSH Standards and in understanding their obligations under the WISH Act.
You will be a member of, full-service consultation teams on complex evaluations of employer safety and health programs, recommend hazard controls to prevent injuries and illnesses, develop and give training on specific safety and health topics and provide training and mentoring to other Industrial Hygiene, Safety and Risk Management Specialists in the region. All while ensuring verification of the correction of serious hazards identified during onsite consultations to include complex consultations.
