What we are looking for:

SCS is seeking a Certified Industrial Hygienist/Certified Safety Professional to assist with managing the Health and Safety Program at a Corporate level. The candidate will manage high-level health and safety programs and initiatives, and also provide technical, contractual, and administrative support for Industrial Hygiene/Safety related field projects. The candidate must possess a license as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) issued by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene and be license as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. We prefer that you are hybrid in a SCS office, but remote work will be considered. You will report to the Corporate Helath & Safety Director.

• Promote a positive Health & Safety Culture throughout SCS.
• Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of federal and state environmental health and safety (EH&S) regulations to ensure H&S program elements are implemented at the appropriate organizational level.
• Assists in performing periodic review, evaluation, and modification of applicable H&S program elements, including reviewing 1-2 SOPs/Programs in the IIPP annually.
• Supports, implements, and sustains the SCS safety culture and provides training and assistance related to development and maintenance of applicable behavior-based safety program elements.
• Provides technical/administrative guidance to all personnel related to implementation of the SCS H&S program, including promoting situational awareness and stop work authority. Encourages avoidance of complacency while conducting work.
• Investigates and evaluates accidents and near-misses, fully documenting all investigative facts and findings, producing an accident investigation report, recommending the appropriate corrective action(s) and assisting the responsible person(s) in their implementation.
• Serves SCS clients on selected projects in providing health and safety professional services, including H&S training and document development, among other things.
• Addresses SCS health and safety issues in offices and at project sites. Makes recommendations, provides written guidance, and provides related training as appropriate.
• Work with personnel to implement IIPP and facilitate Program activities.
• Develops and coordinates implementation of new Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans, and reviews/consolidates existing plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science required. Advanced degrees (MS or Ph.D.) are desired.
• Professional registration as a Certified Industrial Hygienist and Certified Safety Professional required. Registration as a lead and/or asbestos inspector also highly desired.
• Minimum 10 years of related experience required.
• Business Development experience is desired.
• Experience developing, organizing, and auditing environmental health and safety (EH&S) programs and policies.
• Experience in training and development of EH&S staff.
• Experience with qualifications, marketing and business development to expand client base is desired.
• Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.

Pay range for this position is $100k to $170k depending on experience and location. This does not include bonuses or our Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
