SUMMARY:
Responsible for developing job evaluation programs and identifying ways to eliminate waste in production processes. This position will devise efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information and energy to increase overall production output.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Improves manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and production efficiency.
- Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
- Supports the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
- Responsible for improving processes, eliminating waste, and optimizing flow in all manufacturing processes.
- Assists in product flow to improve plant efficiency and reduce cost while improving ergonomics.
- Assists in establishing operational methods and work standards using various measurement techniques.
- Performs time studies on manufacturing operations to make improvements.
- Evaluates ergonomics of operations, provides tools and recommendations to production team to improve the human factor of tasks.
- Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes data and makes recommendations for procedures and manufacturing processes that improve productivity.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Related Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in an Engineering discipline (preferable Industrial Engineer or Mechanical Engineer). Three or more years of related experience preferred with desire for previous automotive operations experience. Lean Manufacturing Experience highly preferred. High energy and experience in inspiring and motivating cross-functional teams. Knowledge and ability to convert engineering requirements into manufacturing instructions.
