Job Summary:
Responsible for direct supervision of Shop Technicians for local branch.
Responsibilities:
• Oversees repairs, services, and maintenance provided by Technicians
• Responsible for schedules of Shop Technicians
• Maintains constant communication with internal and external customers by providing repair estimates, change recommendations, scheduling and completion dates
• Obtains customer approval for repairs
• Coordinates customer issues with CFAs and PSRs
• Opens and closes work orders
• Approves time records for Technicians on a daily basis
• Responsible for answering service-related phone calls
• Oversees maintenance condition of all rental units on the yard
• Evaluates work in process for accuracy and efficiency
• Maintains data base with scheduled preventive maintenance on company trucks, schedules repairs as needed
• Provides technical assistance to customers and Technicians
• Occasionally assists Technicians in completing repairs to equipment
• Responsible for overall condition of shop and shop equipment
• Adheres to company safety program and policies
• Performs other tasks as requested by management
Education/Experience/Skills:
• High School diploma or GED and a minimum two years at Vocational or Technical School
• Minimum five years’ experience as a heavy equipment Technician
• Proficient computer skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• General knowledge of maintenance, repair, parts department functions, and customer needs
