DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY

To work cross-functionally across all company departments and product lines to produce cutting-edge product concepts and design solutions with a focus on aesthetics, functionality, ergonomics, and usability

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

•Assist with concept generation and evaluation while collaborating with multiple departments

•Produce computer models of concept design for presentation, prototyping and production

•Responsible for the aesthetic and ergonomic design of new product

•Collaborate daily with Research & Development (R&D) Engineering and Product Management teams to develop new products

•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management 

•Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training

•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment 

•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations

•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

REQUIRED SKILLS

•Must be skilled in time management, a creative team player, friendly, professional, detail-oriented, honest and a self-starter

Must have the ability to:

•Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment

•Work as part of a multi-disciplined cross-functional team

•Ability to visually communicate concepts through visual thinking, sketching, and rendering

•Maintain multiple projects simultaneously 

•Prepare and build prototypes

•Use hand tools, standard power tools and standard measuring devices

•Proactively conduct consumer research

•Travel domestically and internationally as needed

Must have:

•Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement

•Proficiency in sketching and able to clearly communicate ideas

•Basic working knowledge of 3D surface modeling with SolidWorks or similar parametric modeling software

•Basic working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and KeyShot

•Intermediate mechanical aptitude and familiarity with production processes

•Intermediate knowledge of industrial design methods

•Constant and keen awareness of latest industrial design trends and manufacturing processes/techniques

•Basic model making/shop skills

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint

PERFERRED SKILLS

•Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and/or KeyShot preferred

•Lift/push/pull 40 lbs. preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

•No experience required

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

•At least 1 year of design experience in an industrial design or R&D environment supporting design, manufacturing and technical processes preferred

•Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

REQUIRED EDUCATION

•Associate Degree in Industrial Design

PREFERRED EDUCATION

•Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design preferred

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future
