Import/Export Supervisor supervises the administration of documentation processes required to import and export merchandise and materials in compliance with federal, state, local, or country-specific regulations. Reviews all required documentation and supporting calculations of duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of products. Being an Import/Export Supervisor verifies all payment transactions are completed according to requirements. Ensures that all documentation is up to date and recorded in tracking systems. Additionally, Import/Export Supervisor resolves issues and expedites solutions with clients, customs officials, and shippers. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Import/Export Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Import/Export Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Roles and Responsibilities
Experience
The Supervisor must have at least five (5) years of experience supervising sworn law enforcement personnel, state-certified or state-licensed armed security officers, or uniformed military personnel. Such experience must have involved the daily operational and administrative supervision of at least ten (10) personnel. Experience supervising personnel assigned to multiple sites is strongly preferred.
