Job Description
Under minimal supervision, coordinates and expedites the flow of Repair Units and Assemblies
Work with Production Control, Material Management, Contract Services and Shop Management to maintain efficient cycle time, and resolve Shipment Holds and Escalations
Daily PC use, and data systems access
Generate reports to understand workflow and schedule requirements
Able to perform requirements given through verbal, written and electronic communication methods
Performs other duties as assigned to include assisting with the organization's daily logistical operations, including inventory control, order fulfillment, and distribution
Organizes warehousing for goods
Reviews inventory to ensure that product adjustments are properly applied
Plans and schedules inbound and outbound shipments to internal or external customers based on needs
Acts as liaison between customers, freight carriers and shipping department
Ensures on-time delivery of goods to customers, by investigating and resolving detention issues
Assists in cost control by evaluating shipments, consolidating loads, and selecting most cost-efficient method of shipment within Department of Defense guidelines
Career level support level : Typically 3- 5 years experience.
Logistics & Government Services - Logistics Support
PC Skill to include Microsoft Office, and basic Order Management Software
Ability to load, unload, and move materials within or near plant, yard, or work site
Reads work order or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, wheelbarrow, or other device
Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination, using hand-operated crane or hoist, or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination
Position will include receiving and lifting packages.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
