ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR TASKS:

• Unload and sort all incoming freight.
• Inspect all incoming freight as needed.
• Count and verify items to purchase orders or other documentation.
• Data entry in computerized inventory system for all items 
• Move all incoming product to a specific work center or final stock location utilizing equipment such as a forklift, standard and riding pallet jacks, or carts.
• Ensure that all items are counted and entered correctly and moved in an efficient and timely manner.
• Packaging of items that are delivered as bulk orders. 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain a clean and orderly work area on a daily basis. 
• Assist in small pack or LTL areas as needed. 
• Other functions as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Demands and working conditions:

• Ability to continuously lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds
• Continuously pushing boxes, carts, or pallet jacks 
• Continuous fine finger movements while working on the computer or operating the stand-up reach lift
• Continuously standing and walking 
• Continuous use of near vision while reading 
• Frequently lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds
• Frequently handling tools and packages 
• Frequent 1-foot action while operating the forklift 
• Frequently balancing on the stand-up reach lift 
• Frequent use of far vision and depth perception while operating equipment 
• Occasionally lifting and carrying packages up to 75 pounds (team lift is encouraged) 
• Occasionally reaching above and below the shoulder 
• Occasionally sitting, climbing, bending/stooping, twisting or crouching

• Work environment in inside a warehouse where there is frequent noise and moving objects such as forklifts, carts and other personal lift equipment. Worksite can be congested at times near the unloading track. Environment is in a climate-controlled warehouse and work is completed independently but as a team.

Minimum qualifications and prerequisites: 

Education and Experience 

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating a forklift or pallet jack preferred
• Experience in a warehouse environment preferred

Skills

• Good reading and number recognition skills  
• Strong attention to detail skills 
• Good computer skills including strong 10-key skill
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team 
• Basic math and tape measure reading skills

• Good problem solving/spatial reasoning skills
