    ABOUT THE POSITION
    The Import/Export Coordinator is responsible coordinating and tracking shipments. Also prepares, distributes or processes documentation to ensure required documents are in place and correct. Additionally, the employee coordinates and communicates with customers, agents, vendors, and shippers to maintain process flows and resolve issues.

    Deliverables & Responsibilities
    • Coordinate international shipments.
    • Facilitate communication to connect Astec’s regional offices, the factory sales representatives, the factory shipping department, and freight forwarders.
    • Manage pick lists in order to have them packed and shipped in the timeliest manner possible.
    • Process all required export documentation accurately for international sales orders.
    • Organize and archive export documents, photos, and other critical information that pertain to international shipments.
    • Determines weight, volume, duties, tariffs, and price conversions.
    • Reviews bills of lading, shipping statements, and invoices.
    To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
    • High school diploma required. An associate or bachelor’s degree in business or marketing is strongly desired, or at least two years of business, customer service experience, logistics, or a combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. 
    • Ability to communicate orally and in written form in English and another language (Spanish or Portuguese) is preferred.
    • Must have a working knowledge of the international shipping process.  Continued training will be provided to ensure most up-to-date knowledge. 
    • Ability to work well with others, exercise sound judgment and solve problems, work independently and effectively manage workload, and work well under pressure.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and be resourceful, well-organized, meticulous, and accurate. 
    • Ability to operate general office equipment including telephone, computer, calculator, photocopier, and fax machine.
    • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, Internet software, and E-mail.  An advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
