Consultants in our practice work on a variety of engagements, from accounting department diagnostics, industry best practice and policy and procedure consulting to accounting system selection, configuration, implementation, and migration.
Our services support business critical functions of Finance, Accounting, Forecasting, and Analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Comprehend / analyze financial statements and various management reports
Apply basic internal controls and best practices to accounting and finance functions
Document and analyze clients’ legacy accounting processes and system setup to recommend improvements and efficiencies
Document client needs / expectations and apply to appropriate system configuration
Configure / implement / integrate various ERP and ancillary systems
Apply GovCon compliance knowledge to add value to client base and prepare clients for audit
Communicate professionally and timely with clients and the internal team
Demonstrate analytical thought process and ability to communicate thoughts in logical patterns
Commit to meeting assignment deadlines at the quality standards specified
Demonstrate passion servicing clients with competing deadlines
Adhere to project management system protocols and utilize Cherry Bekaert tools and templates effectively for engagement consistency
Engage with Cherry Bekaert project managers and team members to quickly identify and resolve issues that arise during the engagement
Maintain strict adherence to client confidentiality and professional ethics
Provide internal and external training related to processes and various systems
Remain adaptable and flexible to performing on various consulting projects
Work as a team and independently as needed
Use good judgement and analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and develop solutions
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree - Accounting and Information Systems preferred or related experience
3-5 years of accounting experience working with and navigating various ERP systems and understanding basic functionality of multi-dimensional general ledger software packages
Professional Services / Consulting mentality
Advanced proficiency in Deltek Costpoint software administration
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proactive, adheres to deadlines, responsive to client and management requirements
Extremely detail oriented with strong analytical skills
Effective time management and organizational skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Adaptable, flexible, and accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time and on budget
Demonstrated ability to manage work on multiple engagements with competing schedules and deadlines
Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate and communicate with other team members to achieve successful results
Passionate interest in client service and work variety
Exhibits positive attitude and is calm under pressure
Optional Desired Skills :
CPA license
Experience implementing financial and ERP Systems such as Deltek, Unanet GovCon, QuickBooks, and others
Government Contracting compliance knowledge
Project Accounting experience

The salary range for this position is $93,575 to $168,600. Individual salaries within this range are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education, knowledge, skills, and geographic location.
