Immigration Specialist oversees immigration programs and assists foreign nationals with immigration procedures.     Legal Assistant (entry level) – Full-time – Anchorage, AK

    Engaging position with opportunity to grow for motivated individual.

    This is an entry level position at a well-established Anchorage immigration and civil litigation firm needs a diligent and self-motivated legal assistant. A dedicated, reliable person who feels comfortable being partly self-guided in their work is the perfect fit. We do ask for competence and comfort with Microsoft Word and Outlook. Experience with Excel, Adobe, and QuickBooks Online is a plus but not required. Individual must be bilingual (Spanish is highly preferred, but we are open to other languages). We are willing to train most other skills for the right person. The legal assistant will help to meticulously maintain up-to-date files on individual matters, draft pleadings with attorney supervision, draft letters and emails, interact with the court, file motions and pleadings, assist our paralegals, ensure record keeping compliance, and ensure client success. Initial duties include answering telephones as needed, completion of form letters/pleadings, drafting simple correspondence, completing random tasks that come up in the day to day of a bustling law office. All of these skills can be trained for the right candidate. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, and a sense of pride and importance concerning your work product. You also should enjoy working in a small office where we all get to know and care for each other. Must pass background check, as honesty, responsibility, and motivation are critically important. Must be proficient at typing and possess excellent grammar/writing skills. An eye for detail is also highly valued.     Qualifications

    Experience:

    · One year (or more) of experience working in an office of any type is preferred but not required. (Preferred)

    Education:

    · High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)

    · Associates or higher (Preferred)

    Hours of Operation: Monday -- Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (however for the right candidate we can be flexible with your schedule and your outside needs and obligations).
