IT Vendor Relationship Manager manages the organization's strategic technology vendor management program to meet company needs and comply with required quality standards. Assists with selecting the company's product and service providers and tracks the procurement of IT products and services to monitor and maintain operational costs and budgets. Being an IT Vendor Relationship Manager leads request for proposals (RFP) process to vet the reputation and quality of vendor products. Negotiates service level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are clearly defined. Additionally, IT Vendor Relationship Manager works closely with internal teams to monitor, maintain, and improve existing vendor relationships. Conducts regular business reviews to ensure compliance with company expectations, review issues, and develop solutions. May require experience with software licensing and hardware procurement. · Maintains overall
responsibility for implementation of a large, complex business & technology
program consisting of multiple projects and vendors and its associated
objectives
· Develops and maintains
exceptional business relationships with key stakeholders and sponsors
· Works with sponsors and key
stakeholders to set the program vision, strategy, objectives, scope, business
case
· Works with sponsors and key
stakeholder to define the work breakdown structure (WBS), deliverables, milestones,
timeline, and critical paths to deliver the program objectives
· Oversees and coordinates the
day-to-day activities of multiple vendors and project managers/teams to
effectively manage risks and dependencies
· Work closely with individual
project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources,
work plan, budget, and timing
· Monitor execution of projects
to ensure delivery of program objectives
· Analyze, evaluate, track, and
overcome risks and issues to successfully deliver the program Act as an
escalation point for project issues that impact projects’ cost, schedule and /
or performance.
· Set-up and operate an effective
program governance structure for the Program Sponsor and key stakeholders to
monitor progress, track return on investment, make key decisions, and resolve
risks and issues
· Set-up and operate an effective
program operating model, including an escalation model, to ensure effective
communications across projects
· Develop and publish PMO status
updates and reports to communicate program wins, progress, risks, and issues to
stakeholders
· Work closely with Transition
Managers to ensure effective change adoption across all stakeholders
Requirements
· At least 8 years of overall
program and project management experience
· At last 5 years of program
management experience in progressively more complex business and technology
programs for large, global companies
· At least 2 years working with a
systems integrator on large, complex programs
· At least 2 years managing programs
and projects with multiple vendors
· Experience managing
geo-graphically dispersed virtual teams
· Ability to prioritize,
multi-task, and solve problems
· Experience in a high volume,
fast-paced environment
· Strong written and verbal
communication skills
· Ability to work well with all
levels of the organization
· Strong relationship-building
skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
