IT Vendor Relationship Director designs and implements the organization's strategic technology vendor management program to meet company needs and comply with required quality standards. Selects providers and oversees procurement of IT products and services to monitor and maintain operational costs and budgets. Being an IT Vendor Relationship Director administers the request for proposals process to vet the reputation and quality of vendor products. Negotiates service level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are clearly defined. Additionally, IT Vendor Relationship Director works closely with managers and teams to monitor, maintain, and improve existing vendor relationships. Conducts regular business reviews to ensure compliance with company expectations, review issues, and develop solutions. May require experience with software licensing and hardware procurement. Requires a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. Typically reports to top management. The IT Vendor Relationship Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. This role is responsible for the delivery of all on-premises and cloud managed IT infrastructure. You will provide strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation, and support of IT systems. You will direct and oversee the Infrastructure and Operations teams to ensure IT infrastructure and end user support is positioned to meet organizational goals.


    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the overall enterprise-wide effectiveness and efficiency of all infrastructure systems, networks, and end user support system and to ensure high levels of functionality, performance, and business alignment.
    • Oversee, coordinates, and monitor all support, administration, and operational management activities.
    • Develop and implement standards, procedures, and operational IT processes. Systematically monitors for problem and opportunity areas and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement.
    • Ensure the infrastructure is designed and managed to achieve and maintain high levels of reliability and performance.
    • Confirm all systems configuration and operating procedures are fully documented and properly maintained.
    • Manages outside vendors, outsourcers, and service providers to procure and deliver technology products, services, and contracts. Ensures consistent quality and delivery of service across a tiered IT support model.
    • Provides leadership and management in the planning and management of infrastructure operations, production support, systems and database administration, application development, and desktop support.
    • Establishes, monitors, and analyzes performance metrics and service level agreements to ensure business and customer needs are being properly met.
    • Leads the development of the infrastructure & operations service strategy and technical roadmap and ensures its integration with the overall IT and enterprise strategic plans.
    • Defines, develops and manages a comprehensive and integrated ITSM landscape, based on best-practice processes, disciplines and related toolsets.
    • Champion infrastructure involvement in the IT organization's innovation efforts and its role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of business opportunities
    • Determine financial needs of the work unit and submit annual budget proposal, as directed, that is consistent with IT's strategic direction, division needs, and stakeholder expectations.
    • Develops and controls the annual operating expenditure (opex) and capital expenditure (capex) budgets for infrastructure to ensure that it's consistent with the overall strategic objectives of IT and the enterprise and is within plan.
    • Manage department operations within established budget resources to provide the best products and services to our customers.
    • Manage the performance of business operations including setting goals, establishing metrics, and continually working toward process improvement and cost avoidance.
    • Responsible for the interviewing, hiring, training, and developing of employees.

    Job Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
    • 6 years of IT technical infrastructure management experience
    • 15 years of IT infrastructure plus 5 years of leadership responsibilities including managing teams.
    • Experience in manufacturing plant IT design, implementation, and support
    • Experience in outsourcing and vendor management
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the ITSM principles including relevant methodologies, tools and overall discipline
    • Demonstrated record of budget and cost management experience
    • Experience leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments
    • Experience in strategic planning, organization design and development
    • Experience in developing infrastructure teams
