POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Mental Health Clinical Director oversees the Clinical Program of the STRTP. Primarily responsible for all clinical functions, to ensure that treatment continuity is maintained for residents and families. The Mental Health Clinical Director is responsible for assessing resident’s mental health needs, supervising the activities of the clinical staff, MHRS, and student interns that provide individual, group and family therapy. Oversees all specialty mental health programming at the STRTP. He/ she works closely with the psychiatrist and other MHP providers to ensure the appropriate and coordinated care is being provided for each client. He/ she works closely with the STRTP Administrators and other non-clinical staff to ensure that a consistent and collaborative approach is implemented for each individual resident.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be licensed in Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT), Social Work, (LCSW), Psychologist, PhD or PsyD, Licensed Psychiatric Clinical Counselor etc. Must have experience in Medi-Cal insurance requirements and documentation. Counseling experience in a residential setting and knowledge of group process and interaction; a working knowledge of treatment concepts in working with at Risk teenagers, who have experienced Trauma.

Oversees and implements the development and execution of a sound treatment program which will facilitate the development and growth of the residents by meeting their physical, emotional, educational and vocational needs. The incumbent has the authority to make and the responsibility to carry out major decisions as these decisions are related to an effective therapeutic treatment program. The program utilizes Trauma informed care, Evidenced Based therapeutic modalities, Individualized treatment plans that are strength based, culturally sensitive & developmentally appropriate.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBLITIES: Provides comprehensive, evidenced based, therapeutic mental health treatment services for youth meeting Medi-Cal criteria for Specialty Mental Health Services including individual, group, rehab/ ADL counseling, collateral, Intensive Care Coordination, etc. Intensive Home base services, family therapy, Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist and Psycho-educational groups. Conducts individual and group therapy using evidenced practices. Oversees and may supervise Clinical Therapist, interns and other support staff. Plans and coordinates work of the clinical staff. Directs all aspects of clinical therapy services rendered to clients. Conducts trauma informed in-service staff trainings and staff performance evaluations. Responsible for all Medi-Cal required documentation and client medical chart documentation and ensuring program contractual obligations are met. Act as a resource for staff on issues related to treatment of residents. Creates treatment plans, updates treatments plans as needed or within established timelines. Ensures productivity is met by all billing staff under direct supervision.
Serves a supervisor the ICC coordinator who is responsible for working within the Child and Family Team (CFT) to ensure that plans form any of the system partners are integrated to comprehensively address the identified goals and objectives and that the activities of all parties involved with the service to the child/ youth and/ or family, are coordinated to support and ensure successful and enduring change.
EXPERIENCE: 3 years (Preferred) providing clinical supervision to MFT and MSW Interns. Prefer at least three (3) years providing mental health services to children and adolescents and three (3) years administrative supervisory experience. Knowledge and proven experience with Department of Mental Health and/ or Medi-cal agency documentation. All associates, regardless of position, serve as role models for children and adolescents who are served by our agency. Therefore, each associate must at all times be emotionally stable and able to function effectively with children, adolescents and adults who may have mental or behavioral health problems. The staff must be able to demonstrate appropriate daily behavior, appropriate expression of emotions, as well as appropriate role modeling.

HOURS: 40 hours/ week and On call for Crisis Intervention
COMPENSATION: $80,000 - $100,000 plus benefits
