Description/Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned IT VMO leader to oversee all end-to-end vendor activities including contracts, performance, relationship, and risk management. This role will need to understand the makeup of the technology landscape, drive appropriate sourcing strategies, build key relationships, navigate the vendor landscape, focus on renewal and pipeline management, champion the financial and budget management, lead negotiations, oversee stakeholder reporting and analytics, ensure that vendors are performing and managing the any risk associated with any vendor. This role will also oversee and manage an IT Financial Analyst.Responsibilities/Duties
Lead strategic planning, governance and execution of vendor management operations
Define the VMO operating model, including RACI that outlines how the VMO works with key stakeholders
Develop a deep knowledge of existing vendor services, products, and capabilities
Responsible for negotiating with vendors and, ensuring that the appropriate contractual documents are in place
Oversee the management of strategic vendor relationships
Facilitate the development, and analysis of annual budget management processes
Collaborate with the Finance team to provide forecasts and real-time reporting of vendor-related costs and ensure timely payment to vendors
Monitor and analyze spending trends to fuel recommendations for the future, and to identify cost-saving and cost-avoidance opportunities
Deep understanding of IT licensing, optimization of licensing, and compliance to contracts
Support vendor risk assessments in collaboration with other key stakeholders including the information security team, ensuring that internal controls and executing risk and control procedures are maintained
Oversee all performance management, metrics and dashboards and run QBRs to measure performance
Ensure communications to management regarding the health and status of key vendors and the overall program
Stay current with developments in new trends and innovations in technology
In-depth knowledge of software asset management (SAM) and IT asset management (ITAM) practices and methodologies.
Responsibility for the continuous performance monitoring, training, and professional development needs of team members working to support the service
Required Skills
Experience in managing teams, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders
Proven track record of successfully managing complex IT procurement projects, including large-scale software licensing agreements
Expertise in budget planning, and financial management
Knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology trends and directions, and the application to business needs
Strong leadership capability, including strong negotiation and contract management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport, and persuade others
Must be a self-starter and have excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills
Required Experience
12 years of experience in IT
A minimum of 5-7 years in a leadership role in a vendor management organization
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Education
PMP, Agile or Scrum certification a plus

Salary Information
NY only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $200k to $220k at the time of posting.
The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
