TCR is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our team and drive excellence in our composite manufacturing processes.
Position Overview
The role of the Quality Assurance Manager entails overseeing the planning, direction, and coordination of quality assurance programs, as well as the implementation and development of quality control policies to ensure the effectiveness of production efforts. Additionally, they are tasked with managing ISO audits and DNV certification to uphold the organization's adherence to established quality standards. This position directly reports to the President and General Manager.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
· Manage administrative tasks, including report review and composition, expenditure approval, rule enforcement, and procurement of materials or services.
· Evaluate production samples to access quality.
· Provide feedback and interpretation to production management and staff based on quality control test results.
· Halt production in the event of serious product defects.
· Monitor quality control systems’ performance to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
· Oversee the implementation and upkeep of ISO standards, ensuring alignment with ISO requirements in processes, procedures, and documentation.
· Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, external vendors, and contractors.
· Provide staff training on quality control, analytical procedures, standards, and best practices.
· Generate reports on product or process nonconformance, daily production quality, root cause analyses, and quality trends.
· Participate in developing production material specifications for both TCR and customer requirements.
· Stay updated on quality control field issues by reviewing statistical studies, technological advances, regulatory standards, and trends.
· Identify critical points in the manufacturing process and establish sampling procedures for these points.
· Develop and implement inspection and testing criteria and procedures.
· Supervise workers involved in testing activities, including supervisors, inspectors, and laboratory workers.
· Document testing procedures, methodologies, and criteria.
· Review and update standard operating procedures and quality assurance manuals.
· Identify quality problems and areas for improvement, recommending solutions.
· Ensure compliance with established testing and inspection standards for raw materials, purchased parts, components, in-process samples, and finished products.
· Review quality documentation required for regulatory submissions and inspections.
· Generate and maintain quality control operating budgets.
· Direct the tracking of defects, test results, and other regularly reported quality control data.
· Evaluate new testing and sampling methodologies and technologies for suitability.
· Direct product testing activities throughout production cycles.
· Instruct vendors and contractors on quality guidelines, testing procedures, and deficiency elimination methods.
· Collaborate with the sales team to address customer concerns and feedback regarding product quality.
· Coordinate the selection and implementation of quality control equipment, such as inspection gauges.
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Material Science, or related field
· In-depth knowledge of composite fibers, composite resins, materials, processes, testing, and industry standards
· Strong understanding of quality management systems, including ISO 9001 and other relevant certifications
· Prior leadership experience in a managerial capacity
· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
· Proficient in data analysis and quality management tools
· High degree of accuracy in work
· Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook for efficient email communication, meeting setup, and calendaring, Excel for data analysis, Word for document creation
