IT Quality Assurance Manager manages a group of quality assurance analysts who evaluate, test, and validate software and/or IT services. Develops and implements quality assurance problem reporting processes and systems. Being an IT Quality Assurance Manager analyzes deficiencies in service or performance and recommends product or service improvements to address problems. Designs and implements defect reduction programs. Additionally, IT Quality Assurance Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to head of a unit/department. The IT Quality Assurance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an IT Quality Assurance Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The position serves as a champion of quality and patient safety throughout the Ministry. Works closely with the Chief Medical Officer/Chief Quality Officer/Chief Nursing Officer to provide leadership for hospital-wide efforts to continuously improve the safety, effectiveness, efficiency, patient-centeredness, equity and timeliness of health care service to all patients. Helps lead/manage quality and safety initiatives to achieve outstanding performance on key, nationally standardized metrics of quality and safety.

    Required qualifications:

    • Master's Degree in Nursing or equivalent education/experience.
    • Equivalent or further degree in health care or a related component.
    • License or certification in healthcare-related field (e.g., ART, RRA, CCS, RN, CPHQ) upon hire
    • 5 years Experience in healthcare or quality management.
    • Experience with PC and mainframe systems including abstracting and reporting functions.
    • Experience in various PC software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, graphic presentation and flowcharting.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) upon hire
