    Primary Function:

    • Responsible for ​being knowledgeable of all state and federal regulations for the product being produced, the quality control aspects of products, and assisting in setting quality standards.
    • Responsible for ensuring that all products produced in the food manufacturing facility meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Promote a culture of quality awareness and accountability throughout the organization.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Establish and enforce product quality specifications, standards, and testing procedures.
    • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure all employees are educated in quality standards, procedures, and regulations.
    • Assist in the implementation of quality policies, operating procedures, and quality systems to meet product quality standards.
    • Conduct regular audits for implemented programs (GMPs, Good Hygiene Practices, HACCP, Allergen Control, Cleaning and Sanitation, Pest Control, Equipment Calibration, etc.) to ensure compliance by all employees and other personnel in the manufacturing facility.
    • Review production batch records and other manufacturing-related documents to verify compliance and record keeping for all mandated manufacturing processes, quality checks, testing, sampling, and sanitation activities.
    • Audit quality control of raw materials, packaging components, labels, and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications and regulatory standards.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including FDA, USDA, and other applicable agencies.
    • Participate in all regulatory, third party, customer audits and inspections, and corrective action response.
    • Collaborate with procurement team to qualify new suppliers and conduct regular supplier audits.
    • Evaluate and monitor the performance of suppliers and vendors to ensure they meet quality and food safety standards.
    • Maintain close working relationships with other department managers and supervisory personnel in order to meet and maintain product quality.
    • Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues (including customer complaints) through collaboration with other departments.
    • Implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize the recurrence of quality issues.
    • Oversee the Non-conforming Product program, including the status, release, and destruction of rejected products.
    • Utilize data analysis and statistical tools to monitor and report the principle causes of quality loss and non-conformance to improve key quality metrics.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to identify, solve and prevent problems affecting product quality, maximize productivity, and comply with regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain a professional appearance that is reflective of our commitment to quality.
    • Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings.
    • Perform other required duties as directed.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor Degree of Science preferably in Food Science or related field (Biology, Microbiology, Food Microbiology, etc.), though a combination of experience and/or education with working knowledge of food manufacturing may be considered.
    • At least 5 years of work experience as quality assurance auditor/technician in dietary supplements, food/beverage, pharmaceutical or cosmetic industry, and at least one (1) year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
    • HACCP certification, Allergen Control training, Food Recall training, Code of Federal Regulations Title 21, GFSI and FSMA training, and knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
    • Good understanding of quality testing within the food and beverage industry to include analytical, microbiological, and sensory evaluation.
    • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities; all decisions must be made through the lens of WESCO’s customers and store environment.
    • Possess the ability to work collaboratively with others (between departments, with vendor and community partners, etc.) and have an intimate understanding of the relationship between this position and all related functions.
    • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
    • Be a self-starter with the ability to inspire others to achieve desired results while maintaining a “hands on” approach.
    • Ability to work under pressure (in an extremely fast paced environment), meet deadlines (overtime work required) and make effective decisions.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate ideas (verbally and in writing) and possess the ability to translate conceptual models into functional systems and applications.
    • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office applications) and computer-based applications).
    • Familiarity with statistical process control and data analysis tools.
    • A working knowledge of financials, sales analysis, and other operational reports to identify opportunities and implement improvements.
    • Understands and advocates WESCO’s commitment to its Mission Statement, Unifying Principles, and Company Guidelines.
    • Understands and exhibits the tenets of Giving Leadership both in WESCO and with our external partners.
    • Willingness to travel up to 25% to Wesco and vendor locations, as well as industry events.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
