Description

The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for the oversight of quality improvement and risk management operations and policy for Helton House, Inc.  This position is also responsible for ensuring that the requirements for quality improvement and risk management as indicated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), Department of Medicaid Services (DMAS), Office of Human Rights (OHR), Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) and the Department of Social Services (DSS) are being met by Helton House, Inc.

Responsibilities 

• Ensure all company policy reflects all governing body regulations and update as needed 
• Review of all Level I, II and III incident reports and analyze/record trends, problems and improvements with Program Directors and the Executive Directors 
• Leads the Quality Improvement team and schedules and leads Quality Improvement meetings to ensure DBHDS compliance 
• Coordinate with members of the Quality Improvement team and individuals that utilize services and/or the staff that support the individuals to increase overall services as well as job satisfaction 
• Develop and administer surveys per policy and regulations 
• Develop graphs and/or charts to reflect data pertaining to quality improvement and risk management 
• Know, understand and follow the DBHDS/DMAS regulations, human rights and company policies 
• Investigate, document and input data into the Computerized Human Rights Information System (CHRIS) regarding serious incidents and abuse in conjunction with the Program Directors and Executive Directors 
• Monitor emergency food and water supply for all Helton House, Inc residential facilities 
• Conducts program checks to ensure regulation and policy compliance 
• Assist with training new hires and with annual training requirements for staff 
• Respond to medical, behavioral and other emergencies appropriately and in a calm manner 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred 
• Knowledge and experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities required 
• Must have the knowledge, skills and abilities to fulfill the job requirements 
• Computer experience and proficiency required 
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to lead a team 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage/prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities 
• Most have excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate professionally and clearly
