RESPONSIBILITIES
The IT Project manager is responsible for the project life cycle through the initiation, planning, execution, and closure phases for IT projects involving multiple technologies, multiple systems, business unit functions and stakeholders.
Projects range in size and complexity in support of strategic business goals and objectives.
Manages IT initiatives as they move from design, to build, installation, go-live, training and ultimately into the customer’s operational state. Ensures completion of essential functions required to ensure consistent, quality, successful delivery of assigned projects, while managing competing demands of scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality and stakeholder expectations.
May serve as informal resource for less experienced colleagues.
Applies industry knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principals, and technical capabilities to perform tasks and projects.
Works on complex projects of large scope; may refer to precedents and defined parameters.
Completes routine work independently; receives general guidance on new projects.
REQUIRED SKILLS
2-4 Years of IT Project Management experience in mid-large scale environments
Experience working on multiple projects at once of various complexity
Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to employ critical thinking to overcome challenges
Ability to act as a liaison between customers and internal project teams. Must have strong interpersonal communication skills.
Must have the ability to work onsite in Columbus, OH on occasion. Local candidates preferred
DESIRED SKILLS
2 years of experience on IT infrastructure projects
Bachelor’s degree in an IT related discipline
PMP Certification is a plus, but not required
Experience working on projects for educational institutions is a plus
