It Takes A Village No-Kill Rescue Center, Inc. is hiring for our Evansville location!! We are looking for a competent full-time Adoption Coordinator and Office Assistant to help find forever homes for homeless animals and and assist with the daily administrative operations of our rescue. Hours are generally Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9 am to 5:30 pm. Wednesday 9 am to 7 pm. The ideal candidate is outgoing, loves animals, has basic office skills and is comfortable working with the public.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

• Review adoption applications, interview prospective adopters, discuss animals' behavioral and medical records, and make appropriate placements;
• Conduct customer-focused conversations with members of the public who have an interest in adopting a pet. Assist adopters in finding a good match for their families;
• Provide potential adopters with information, as appropriate and known, about animals in order to assist potential adopters with finding an appropriate pet for their home;
• Be comfortable with data entry using shelter software program to create and update records ensuring accuracy - this is an essential part of the job;
• Respond to email, phone, web, or in-person inquiries regarding animals;
• Assist with scheduling vet appointments and getting animals to the vet;
• Assist with taking photos of animals and promoting them to help with adoption;
• Comfortable working with the public both in person and on the phone;
• Greet customers who come to the rescue center during open hours and assist with customer needs during open hours;
• Must be conformation handling and controlling animals, including walking them. Many of the dogs are large dogs so must be comfortable working with large dogs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Must possess a valid driver's license;
• Experience working with animals in an animal shelter or other official animal welfare organization is a plus, but not required.
• Working knowledge of office equipment, including proficiency with computers and comfortable with data entry;
• Excellent organizational and time management skills;
• A positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills when dealing with the public, especially in difficult and sensitive situations;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization;
• Comfortable with email, phone calls, data management software and social media;
