Job Description:
Safety Supervisor
· Manage safety incidents, near-miss database, and corrective actions.
· Establish a quarterly safety recognition program.
· Provide annual safety award recommendations.
· Daily Job Hazards Assessment (JHA) management, content reviews, and corrective action as needed.
· Provide input on shop and field tech safety for annual performance reviews.
· Proactively communicate regularly with management on safety issues and updates.
· Day-to-day safety activities including support in the field.
· Oversee the calibration safety equipment.
· Conduct bi-yearly field safety audits focusing on overall job site safety, test procedures, PPE, vehicles, and documentation.
· Provide leadership in terms of safety communication, procedures, and lead by example.
· Responsible for Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) manual updates in coordination with management.
· Conduct investigations on safety incidents and accidents that may occur.
· Manage and track individual safety training requirements for Shop and Field Technicians.
· Conduct yearly review of safety equipment.
· Propose a yearly safety budget to be reviewed with management including safety equipment and training.
· Maintain up to date knowledge of OSHA Standards and NFPA 70E Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
· Update published Safety Policies and Procedures.
Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) Supervisor
· Knowledge of the latest International Electrical Testing Association (NETA) ANSI Standards for Acceptance, Maintenance, Commissioning, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
· Knowledge of the latest NFPA 70B Standard for Electrical Maintenance and ability to research as needed other applicable standards such as IEEE, IEC and ANSI.
· Expertise in electrical equipment/systems installation, system start-up and pre-functional inspections, acceptance testing and associated commissioning activities.
· Liaise with operations team providing feedback on QA/QC activities associated with shop and field technicians.
· Perform random field audits including job progress visits and work inspection to assure that technical and field activities are performed to the highest quality standards.
· Prepare and issue audit reports noting non-conformance and verify effective corrective/preventive actions.
· Ensure that field work and test reports meet contractual requirements.
· Review test plan and checklists based on project specifications and contractually approved scope of work. Manage initial project submittals package until
· final approved.
· Review expeditiously final test reports, test results and recommendations, test results data sheets for technical accuracy, clarity, completeness, grammar, and documentation. Make corrections as needed, follow-up with missing, and questionable items. Assure that all pass/fail/corrective actions are based on sound technical standard based cross references. Review and address all report resubmittal “revise and resubmit” comments.
· Provide timely feedback to shop and field techs in a positive continuous learning environment.
· . Knowledge of test equipment used in the field, testing range, applicability and limitations of the test set, calibration requirements and chain of custody.
· Review adherence to Methods of Procedure (MOP) associated with the project.
· Assist with internal training program to improve projects accuracy and overall quality.
· In collaboration with operations, assist in maximizing efficiency and productivity of field engineering services.
· For projects involving materials purchased from vendors, verify documentation and specifications against the purchasing agreement.
· When applicable review supplier quality plans against contract requirements.
· Provide QA/QC statistics, metrics, and feedback to management.
· Facilitate Root Cause analysis processes for field project deficiencies to ensure corrective and preventive action.
· Attend customer quality management meetings as needed.
