GOVERNMENT AGENCY: NASA Shared Services Center - NSSC

POSITION INFORMATION: Full-Time Position; Government Contractor supporting the NSSC

LOCATION: Stennis, MS

SALARY: $17.96/hr $4.80 per hour Health & Welfare used towards ITC's benefits plan. If not used towards benefits, H&W is deposited in a 401(k) account on the employees' behalf.

The NASA Shared Services Center's (NSSC) mission is to provide timely, accurate, high quality, cost-effective, and customer-focused support for selected NASA business and technical services . IT Coalition is currently searching for a procurement assistant 2.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Performs tasks which require knowledge and experience in procurement procedures and rules such as: creating and maintaining procurement files, generating procurement documents, utilizing procurement systems, data entry and reporting.
• Remains current on new processes and systems to ensure best procurement practices and strategies
• This position requires a level of independent judgment, analytical skill, and decision-making
• Clear, concise, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical data and manuals
• Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with a diverse clientele, including Department management, supervisors, other employees, professional peers, and the general public
• Understand policies, procedures and regulations relevant to procurement
• Create tasks in ServiceNow
• Prepare/bookmark an award package
• Work independently processing awards/supplements
• Post award activities (including, but not limited to) finalization of FPDS, distribution of award documents and inputting the award file in the official repository.

Required:

• At least 4 years of experience in professional procurement, purchasing, contracts, grants, preferably in a government agency. Which includes the drafting of complex contracts/grants.

Other Qualifications:

• Solid communication, problem solving and research abilities are necessary
• Strong knowledge of office software skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and prior experience with SAP a plus
• Experience with or knowledge of Government Grants or Cooperate Agreements is especially useful
