IT Procurement Manager jobs in Alabama
IT Procurement Manager leads and manages all phases of the IT procurement function. Evaluates and identifies the needs of the organization and stakeholders. Being an IT Procurement Manager defines clear and specific requirements for equipment and services. Researches suppliers and directs the sourcing process. Additionally, IT Procurement Manager negotiates contracts, pricing, terms, and service level agreements. Establishes standards and policies for efficient and fair procurement practices. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The IT Procurement Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an IT Procurement Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Summary of Position:
Work closely with production, managing inventory levels of critical raw components as they relate to lead-times, and consumption. Vendor setup, maintenance, and relationships. Analyze and evaluate vendor capacity, negotiating pricing. Strategic planning of inventory and supply chain management.
Duties & Responsibilities
Execute purchase orders

Maintain open line of communication with projects and production on upcoming needs
Confirm vendor delivery dates are in sync with project timelines
Implement cost savings, mitigating delays within supply chain
Research market projections on materials/goods, regarding forecasted issues
Maintain viable alternatives for supply chain resources
Attend production calls, monitoring pulse of upcoming materials consumption
Required Skills & Experience
BS in 4 year institution and 4 years supply chain experience.
Must have excellent phone skills/etiquette
Places high priority on maintaining internal/external relationships
Must have excellent organization and prioritizing skills
Must possess strong computer skills
Microsoft office skills (Excel) with ERP system experience
Attention to detail and accuracy a must
Must possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to adhere to confidentiality regarding pricing and process
