IT Capacity Planning Manager manages staff responsible for monitoring the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Develops policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planning Manager documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planning Manager may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The IT Capacity Planning Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an IT Capacity Planning Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Oversees all Production Planning work with Sales and New Product Management Teams, developing and managing forecasts for short and long range material planning (current inventory, obsolescence, lead times, product life cycles, production capacity, etc.). Manages priority flows through the production system, resolving component issues, and managing the scheduling of finished goods revisions. Core Responsibilities Leads and develops Production Planning Team. Develops Team performance goals and objects to achieve customer demands while enabling accuracy and quality. Maximizes Production Planning Team performance through strong leadership, effective operational performance, and teammate motivation. Oversees the short and long-term master production schedule, scheduling all new tray finished goods and forecasting functions maintaining or exceeding acceptable fill rates with distribution partners. Manages finished goods inventory levels to minimize excess finished goods and raw material. Manages Device History Records process creation, planning and releasing work orders to warehouse and production departments. Manages the On Hand inventory report, ensuring distribution partners maintain adequate finished goods inventory. Manages load leveling, bottleneck scheduling, and utilizes theory of constraints (TOC) to achieve accurate scheduling. Assists in the resolution of MRP and planning discrepancies. Translates projected forecasts, incoming volume, and work scopes into a production plan with a time-phased build schedule. Establishes key performance indicators of forecast accuracy and holds team accountable for maintaining acceptable levels of accuracy. Schedules demand based on the product mix and provides accurate commitment dates to customer service team across multiple product lines. Provides input to finance on operating plans for the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process, concerning incoming volume and capacity. Manages the network of interconnected businesses involved in the production of surgical trays. Converts and communicates demand requirements for products and services into detailed plans and schedules for inventory acquisition. Qualifying Experiences Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred Eight (8) or more years of Production Planning and/or medical supplies/components production required.
