The IT Manager of Enterprise Applications has oversight of, and manages, day-to-day application functionality of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software, in-house programs, ERP modifications, vendor-supported ERP changes, and ERP-adjacent cloud-based applications. The IT Manager of Enterprise Applications also oversees hardware and systems that support ERP software, including IBM iSeries, Apache servers, scan guns (mobile), and label printers. This role is critical to ensuring that the enterprise applications, services, and processes work reliably and securely. This Manager role will lead a team that implements code, maintains consistent and reliable system functions, and monitors key areas that include servers, network resources, peripherals, and cloud-based services.
The IT Manager of Enterprise Applications provides guidance and leadership to internal and external (vendor) development teams, and directly supports end users by handling escalations, resolving user issues, and monitoring the performance of business-critical elements in a 24x7 environment. To prevent production delays and quickly resolve outages/issues, this position requires a full understanding of ERP workflows, as well as a solid understanding of manufacturing and/or distribution mechanisms and B2B/B2C business platforms.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily oversight and leadership of the team members that support enterprise applications and systems.
- Monitor system performance.
- Oversee network and hardware upgrades and installation projects as relates to ERP environment.
- Direct staff schedules and work assignments, including staff training and development/ongoing education.
- Support and monitor team DevOps process, and ticket management.
- Work with business leadership and users to identify and understand system modifications and enhancements.
- Work with IT leadership to prioritize work and structure the IT roadmap for future projects.
- Develop and implement operating and departmental policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in vendor negotiations and work assignments.
- Communicate with all levels of the company, in a clear, concise manner regarding enterprise application functions.
- Actively work to support the business goals of the Company by ensuring systems and staffing are operating at optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-year Degree in job related education or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in leading and inspiring a team of diverse talents and abilities.
- At least 3 years of experience in programming in an iSeries/AS400 environment.
- At least 3 years of experience with document creation and system controls.
- At least 3 years of experience within a manufacturing and/or distribution environment, coupled with knowledge and understanding of B2B and B2C platforms.
- A meticulous and methodical system to track work, changes, documents, processes, systems, and all other facets of enterprise system operations that impact company success.
- Highly developed logic and reasoning abilities to work through problems efficiently and effectively.
- Must be able to work with minimal direction while maintaining an elevated level of productivity personally and for the enterprise team.
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- iSeries/AS400 experience – OS, DB2 physical/logical files, RPGLE/CL programming, etc.
- ERP support experience (S2K, JD Edwards, SAP, etc.)
