IT Capacity Planner, Sr. evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Implements policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planner, Sr. documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planner, Sr. may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. To be an IT Capacity Planner, Sr. typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for purchasing and negotiations of materials to support direct and indirect material spend requirements Develop current supply base to improve cost, delivery, and quality Drives sourcing initiative in new design process, ensure compliance with engineering specifications. Open order tracking and expediting with internal production and suppliers for assigned products. Inform others of updated status and delivery information Keeps abreast of market conditions, commodity pricing, product developments, and seek potential new sources of supply. Maintains accurate production schedules and supplier information in computer system Identifies cost savings opportunities for assigned products Substitutes for the other buyer/planners and participate in lean/ABS activities for the department as required. Other duties as assigned. Critical Competencies PC Literate Operating knowledge of ERP systems SAP preferred MS Office Excel and/or Access preferred Clear oral and written communication. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree or minimum five years of directly related experience as a buyer or combination of education, training or experience to provide the level of knowledge and skill requirement.
