IT Capacity Planner evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Implements policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planner documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planner may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. To be an IT Capacity Planner typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Your growth opportunity
    • Provide professional planning, technical, and program management
    • Prepare site analysis, concept design, design development, and presentations
    • Use software and equipment to prepare and revise technical drawings and plans using company established standard procedures
    • Provide quality control by reviewing completed work to ensure compliance with KLJ quality standards
    • Communicate consistently with the project manager, client and contractor
    • Read and interpret plans to assist with client management and effectively communicate to answer inquiries from coworkers, clients, or the public
    • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate motorized vehicles
    What you're responsible for
    • May serve as project manager on designated projects
    • Participate and facilitate in meetings with stakeholders and clients
    • Confer with project team members and clients to lead, prepare, and participate in project proposals and interviews
    • Assist with design, plans, specifications, reports, maps, schedules, estimates, data collection, and documents and agreements as needed
    What you'll need

    A Bachelor's Degree in planning, civil engineering, or a related field and 5-10 years of experience is required.

    Preferences:

    A Master's Degree and an AICP are highly desired.
