IT Capacity Planner evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Implements policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planner documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planner may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. To be an IT Capacity Planner typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     About the Role:
    Planners are responsible for workforce planning of field operations and work closely with the technicians, supervisors, and managers in the local communities Windstream serves. Planners may handle multiple communities and are often responsible for workforce of around 75 to 100 technicians.

    What You'll Do:
    • Review, monitor and adjust field operation technician daily tasks to ensure all commitment times are met.
    • Build close working relationships with field technicians, supervisors, and managers to maintain and improve dispatch performance and efficiency.
    • Oversee technician routes to ensure optimal use of time, manage capacity requirements, and communicate with technicians and local managers to ensure compliance and productivity.
    • Work with field personnel to update tech calendars and manage work zones.
    • Analyze failed tasks, provide system administration, and correct tasks interface errors.
    • Assist customers with questions regarding their tasks.
    • Contact customers to reschedule appointments or respond to escalations.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Must be able to work any shift including weekends.

    Additional Details:
    This is a virtual/work from home position. Windstream requires employees working virtually to maintain a distraction-free workspace with sufficient high speed internet access of 25 MBPS or higher.

    Minimum Requirements:
    High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years experience with 3 years directly related to the job. College hours or a college degree may be substituted for some experience as deemed appropriate.
