Scope of Work: The Asset/Liability Manager is responsible for the oversight, preparation and facilitation of the Bank’s Asset/Liability Management (ALM) program and strategy. The incumbent maintains and develops internal and external models used to monitor and accurately report the Bank’s position on interest rate risk and liquidity management.  This position is the main point of contact for the Bank’s external ALM vendor and participates in the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) as committee secretary. The incumbent is highly involved in the budgeting and forecast processes and is responsible for working with budget managers on developing loan and deposit forecasts used to develop an accurate margin budget. In addition, the Asset/Liability Manager is responsible for overseeing various accounting standards are met for financial reporting purposes. Essential Functions (3): Leads the Bank’s Asset Liability Management activities Coordinate with the bank’s asset/liability management external vendor and ALM software model Manages the Bank’s liquidity strategy and planning process including policy maintenance, pledged loan collateral and quarterly liquidity forecasts and reports Prepares and distributes the ALCO meeting materials and maintains meeting minutes for the committee Responsible for the budget and forecasting of the bank’s balance sheet Works with budget managers to forecast loan and deposit volume and pricing assumptions Responsible for the maintenance and updates to the software applications used in the budget/ forecast cycle Oversees and maintains various accounting and financial reporting standards pertaining to balance sheet management Participates in the preparation and reporting of certain aspects of Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) Partners with a third party vendor on the valuation and reporting of mortgage servicing rights (MSR) Responsible for the internal time studies and oversight of the accounting for net deferred fees/costs per FASB statement 91 Supports the CFO and Corporate Controller during various audits and examinations conducted by internal/external auditors and bank regulators   Other Duties & Responsibilities: Promotes the Kennebunk Savings Brand by recommending our products and services, supporting our community focus & commitment to being a premier employer Understands, supports and adheres to applicable organizational policies/procedures and state/federal regulations Consistently emphasizes the importance of teamwork in the department and company at large Responsible for keeping abreast of company news and information Responsible for completing required training and policy review May serve on various committees Willingness to take on additional tasks and duties Certifications & Licenses Required: Not applicable Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, preferably in banking Displays high level of regard for trust and confidentiality Proficient in Microsoft Office Products Displays strong written and verbal communication skills Displays strong organization skills and the ability to multi-task to meet established deadlines Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Effectively uses analytical skills to solve technical, as well as, non-technical problems Prior knowledge of regulations within the financial services industry is preferred Ability to adapt to change   Desired Job Experience: 5 years of experience in a Finance/Accounting field Familiar with interest rate risk modeling Experience in a professional, service focused and fast-paced environment Desired Education: High school or General Education Diploma Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred Working Conditions & Minimum Physical Requirements: Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards  Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer and other office equipment Lifting and moving of moderately heavy objects on occasion Normally seated for extended periods of time External and internal applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, or Maine/New Hampshire Human Rights Commissions, must be able to perform the essential job functions (as listed) either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined by management on a case-by-case basis.
