HPI is a world class engineering and manufacturing company offering the broadest range of propeller systems in the aviation industry. We design, develop, test, manufacture, and support constant-speed aluminum and composite propeller systems for all categories of aircraft, ranging from general aviation to military applications. The company traces its history to 1914, where a relationship between Orville Wright and Robert Hartzell led to the manufacture of the first Hartzell propeller. 


    Key Responsibilities

    Hartzell seeks an IT Manager with specialized expertise in cybersecurity and the KACE Management System to lead our IT operations across various sites. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong background in managing Office 365 environments, extensive experience with Cisco and Fortinet devices, knowledge of cybersecurity measures, and proficiency in using the KACE Management System for device management and software deployment. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure, while also leading the IT help desk team to support our extensive employee base. This role requires operation in a professional office setting in our Ohio business and may necessitate travel between sites to ensure unified IT management practices and security protocols.


    Key Deliverables

    1) Be an energetic leader who develops a high performing talent, builds an excellent culture and collaborates with the Hartzell Aviation IT team to implement standardized practices.

    2) Direct and oversee IT infrastructure, cybersecurity initiatives, and the use of the KACE Management System across multiple sites to ensure operational excellence and alignment with business goals and timelines.

    a. Utilize the KACE Management System for comprehensive device management, software deployment, and patch management to maintain a secure and efficient IT environment.

    3) Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity strategies, including but not limited to threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response, utilizing best practices and cutting-edge technologies.

    a. Lead security audits, risk assessments, and penetration testing initiatives, addressing vulnerabilities, and enhancing the organization’s security posture.

    b. Develop and conduct security awareness training programs for employees, promoting a culture of security mindfulness across the organization.

    4) Manage the Office 365 environment with a focus on leveraging security configurations and compliance settings to safeguard organizational data.

    5) Administer network devices and security solutions, with an emphasis on Cisco and Fortinet products, to ensure a secure network architecture.


    First Year Success Factors

    1) Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business, IT resources and systems used throughout Hartzell Aviation.

    2) Learn the company culture and build productive relationships with the internal customers of IT.

    Requirements

    Required Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of IT management experience with knowledge of cybersecurity and experience managing multisite IT operations. Relevant certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, IT Management (e.g. ITIL) and specific technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified, Cisco Certified) would be beneficial.


    Required Technical Competencies

    1) Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    2) Proficiency with the KACE Management System for device and software management

    3) Understanding of cybersecurity practices, tools and technologies, along with Office 365, Cisco and Fortinet devices

    4) Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance regulations.

    5) Strong knowledge of server hardware and configurations; hands on experience with VMWare and/or Hyper V

    6) Demonstrated experience managing complex IT projects
