Job summary
Provides IT Asset Management, Compliance and Governance support of the government customers’ portfolio and programs, provides recommendations on solutions to issues, and proposes new best practice in IT asset and license management (especially Microsoft Cloud licensing) and/or software benefits administrator.
Duties
- Understand and interpret IT asset licensing requirements and governance, provide asset management expertise in support to customers, staff, and leadership. Analyze recommendations, policy, and guidance, and provide recommendations on interpretation and solutions for problem areas.
- Ensure all commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software products are purchased using approved contract vehicles.
- Interface with field and strategic portions of the enterprise to implement its hierarchical procurement process .
- Use software tools, databases, and/or programs to build reports, gather information from across the organization, perform data analysis, consolidate responses, and propose new or modified policies to implement best practices or new policy/guidance directed from the customer.
- Evaluate system change proposals and provide recommendations based on guidance and policy relating to each program. Advocate for the program and provide innovative recommendations to automate annual reporting requirements.
- Distill and present information to senior leaders to provide impact, implications, recommendations and solutions while using commonly used terms and definitions.
- Performs all other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, computer science, IT or related field. Equivalent related experience may be substituted for education.
- Must have at least five (5) years of experience in areas such as asset management, licensing, and inventory management or software procurement
- Basic or Certified Asset Management Professional (CAMP), IT Asset Management Foundation (ITAMF), Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) or equivalent is preferred
- Must be able to assess customer needs and translate to solutions
- Effective verbal and written communication, including presentation skills, are required
- Effective interpersonal and conflict resolutions skills required
- Must be able to train others
- IAT/IAM Level I certification required
- Must possess an active DoD security clearance
