Primary Purpose
This job oversees our accounting department’s daily operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliation. Directs a team to perform duties specific to their area of expertise.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- This job will directly manage and facilitate all duties in their area. These may include but are not limited to: 1) Facilitating the Sales invoicing process, 2) Creation and distribution of sales invoicing (poultry, grain, misc.), 3) Assisting with reconciliation company-wide, and 4) Assisting with the complete month-end close of A/R.
- Provides clear direction and support for team activities. Monitors the daily performance of the accounting department. Guides training & development of the team to increase competency and commitment.
- Establish accounting policies and procedures, aligned with the company’s targets.
- Assist and support audit initiatives, provide performance and other ad-hoc reconciliations as requested. Manage month-end and year-end closing. Organize financial data into useable information and maintain updated records.
- Promote and maintain a safe and secure work environment for associates, following Mountaire policies.
Qualifications
- BS Accounting or Finance.
- 3-5 years' experience as an Accounting Supervisor.
- Strong computer skills, in particular Excel. Able to manage spreadsheets and create charts using advanced formulas.
