Job Summary:
If you are looking to expand knowledge while continuing to do what you love in patient care this is the position for you! Coping with chronic, non-healing wounds can be both frustrating and time-consuming for our patients. As a Hyperbaric Oxygen Technician, you can help them with the healing process! At the CentraCare Monticello Wound Center, we perform a high volume of wound procedures. Our Hyperbaric Oxygen Technicians administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Physician. You will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s), where the patients breathe pure oxygen inside the pressurized chamber to help increase their bodies own natural healing abilities. This position will spend about half of their day providing direct patient care and the other half “diving” patients. This allows for an LPN, EMT or paramedic to work with patients but also specialize in a unique area of medicine.
" I love working at the wound center and hyperbaric therapy because it offers a great variety of opportunities to gain and learn many skills. I especially enjoy getting to know our patients on a personal level. It's rewarding to know we are helping improve their quality of life. Working with a dedicated and talented team is an added bonus".- Stephanie, LPN,CHT
