    FSLA Status: Full time / Exempt

    General Purpose:

    The Hyperbaric Technician operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber(s) and associated systems and equipment; and acts as the outside attendant and control operator during clinical treatment using mono-place hyperbaric (HBOT) chambers.

    Certification requirements:

    • Licensed Respiratory Therapist, or Medical Technician, or License Practical/Registered Nurse (LPN/LVN), or Diver Medical Technician (DMT), or Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT), or Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS), or Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic (EMT/NRP).

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Management and supervises all preparation of the hyperbaric chamber, equipment, medicine and materials as needed for patients undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
    • Explains hyperbaric treatment to the patient under the direction of the physician.
    • Monitors the patients and the hyperbaric systems during the patient's hyperbaric oxygen treatment.
    • Reports unusual occurrences to supervising physician and documents in the patient's chart.
    • Maintains operating, maintenance and safety logs and other required documentation and documents signature as required.
    • Assures the cleanliness of the hyperbaric oxygen therapy equipment and chambers as per departmental policy.
    • Assists with safe transport of patients to and from the Hyperbaric chambers.
    • Maintains operational supplies, and reports to the Safety Director for items that need to be ordered.
    • Qualifications:
    • Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision. Proven flexibility and willingness to handle a variety of tasks.
    • Must maintain high regard of HIPPA standards.
    • Must be able to efficiently and accurately input data along with use of good verbal and communication skills.
    • Works in a clean, safe, well-ventilated at times dim-lighted, well-vented area.
    • Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.

    Education:

    • Graduation from high school with diploma or equivalent.
    • Must passed an approved, recognized 40-hour basic hyperbaric medicine course or be willing to enroll.
    • One or more of the following that is current and in good standing:
    • Licensed Respiratory Therapist, or Medical Technician, or License Practical/Registered Nurse (LPN/LVN), or Diver Medical Technician (DMT), or Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT), or Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS), or Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic (EMT/NRP).
    • Current ACLS certification

    Computer Skills:

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, internet software, database software, e-mail, and electronic medical record software.

    Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
