Hyperbaric Technician administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy and diagnostic testing to patients under the direction of a physician. Documents required treatment details including equipment settings, treatment duration, and patient response. Being a Hyperbaric Technician operates hyperbaric chamber and other hyperbaric support systems in accordance to all applicable safety standards and regulations. Performs cleaning of chamber and equipment according to infection control policies. Additionally, Hyperbaric Technician performs equipment checks and system maintenance. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Hyperbaric Technician works under moderate supervision. General Summary: The Hyperbaric Technician is accountable for operation of the hyperbaric chambers and assisting the Certified Hyperbaric Technician with chamber maintenance. Also provides patient care and preparation of patients who enter the hyperbaric treatment environment. The Hyperbaric Technician is actively involved in department activities, transdisciplinary team activities, and LifeCare activities to ensure individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient populations admitted to LifeCare Hospital.

Experience: Previous wound care or hyperbaric experience preferred
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited LPN/LVN, Respiratory Therapist, EMT or DMT program preferred
